The Holy Spirit is the Power and Spirit of God here on earth, He is the Chief Executive and the third member of the threefold Godhead. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is a person with numerous activities to perform in your life if you will only give Him the chance. Let us look at some of the works of the Holy Spirit and how He can help you survive in the storms of life.
In the book of 1 Thessalonians 1:6, the Bible says, "and you became followers of us and of the LORD, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit." If there is lack of joy in your life, now fall on your knees immediately and begin to ask the Holy Spirit to enable joy in your life. That is one of His duties to make you joyful and happy. In the book of Romans 14:17, the Bible says, "for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." If your life is devoid of righteousness, peace and joy, then it is time to call upon the Holy Spirit to enable these keys in your life to be activated right now in the name of Jesus. In the book of Romans 5:5, the Bible says, "now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Some of us struggle to love ourselves and even love our neighbours; ask the Holy Spirit today to pour out the love of God into your heart and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. In the book of Romans 15:13, the Bible says, "now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." One of the works of the Spirit of God is to enable you to overflow with hope, now get on your knees and ask Him to do that in your life. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of Galatians 5:22-23, the Bible says, "but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law." The entire world is fallen apart because people are looking on the works of the flesh and not the fruit of the Spirit. If you are desperate for change, then ask the Holy Spirit to enable you with the fruit of the Spirit and you will not be disappointed. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of Matthew 12:28, the Bible says, "but if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you." When you allow the Holy Spirit to resident in you, no demon power can trouble you because the Holy Spirit will enable you to drive out demons and their associates around you. The Holy Ghost is a demon-buster, get connected. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of Mark 13:11, the Bible says, "but when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit." When you allow the Holy Spirit to settle in your life, He will help you and put words into your mouth when you are in a tight corner. By that I mean, He will enable you to speak the way God would like you to speak rather than tell lies. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of John 14:26, the Bible says, "but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." He is your comforter sent to teach you all things about God and also to remind you of things you may have forgotten. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of John 3:5-8, the Bible says, "...most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'you must be born again'. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." It is impossible to become born again without the Holy Spirit, for it is He who enables you to enter into the Kingdom of God. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
In the book of Romans 8:26, the Bible says, "likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." The Holy Spirit knows that we are weak in nature and sometimes, we want to pray but do not know what to say. He is always available to help us in our state of weakness. There are many more works the Holy Spirit does that cannot be completely discussed in this brief articles but the above points exemplify the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Get connected immediately to Jesus Christ by becoming a born again today, and begin to enjoy the services of the Holy Spirit, the Counsellor, Comforter, helper, intercessor, advocator, strengthener, and your standby power. In places where there are no electricity, the Holy Spirit is your standby generator to light your life up. May God bless you as you do this in obedience.
