Bible Study Strategy

River of Grace Outreach Ministries International

From my counselling experience, most people tend to read the Bible like any other books as though it is a novel. As a result they find it boring, uninspiring and lacking revelation. The Bible is the Word of God, it is God speaking directly to us and God is Spirit, and those who worship Him, fellowship with Him must do that in spirit and in truth.

Therefore, before you start to read the Bible, be in the spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you the truth of what you are about to read, so that you can understand and learn the will and ways of God.

"John 16:13-14, says However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you."

It also tells us in the book of "Psalm 119:18, says open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from your law.” Having known these truths now, ensure that you are ready to accept the Word of God that you are reading whether it pleases you or not, otherwise there is no point reading it. As you begin to read, you will surely find out that there are certain words and statement that may appear strange to you and or displeasing, but it is important that you accept them without doubt. Hebrews 3:7-8, Hebrews 4:1-2, Romans 10:17.

My friends I will stress to you, very important......., pick up any verses and confess them loudly to God in prayers and praises. Though, our God is neither deaf nor blind, but by doing so, you disgrace and put the devil to shame and resist his attack as Jesus did in Matthew 4:7.

Furthermore, you will begin to build your faith and feed your spirit man and also release your inner powers as in Ephesians 3:20. At this stage, this brings me to the subject of meditation. You must learn to meditate on the Word of God and by so doing, will change your life as shown in the following scriptures, Jeremiah 6:16, Proverbs 4:20-23, Joshua 1:8.

Please, always learn to act upon what you have read in prayers and that will build your prayer vocabulary. Whatever message that comes to your heart, it is important that you write them down for that is some of the ways God may be speaking to you.

Also learn to memorise verses as much as you can to build your defences for any future attacks. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to write to us and we hope that you have been blessed with this brief teaching.
